Tribute to Mila Schön

Milan is celebrating the everlasting fashion of Mila Schön with an exhibition at Palazzo Reale.
But at the opening of 19 September 2008 just she was absent, “the lady of elegance”, “the queen of style”, dead at the age of 89 years, when her most famous creations were reaching the venue of the exposition.
Wanted to celebrate the 50 years of activity of the designer who was among the protagonists of the birth of the “Made in Italy”, the exhibition Mila Schön: Linee Colori Superfici is a dutiful tribute to the woman who made Milanese style synonymous with elegance in the world. (more…)

marcegaglia1.jpgThere is always a first time and, in this case more than ever, we would like to add fortunately. In fact, if there are choices that let us hope for well, Emma Marcegaglia first woman president of Confindustria has what it takes to be one of them.
Born in Mantua in 1965, the entrepreneur is accustomed to primacies with the association of Italian industrialists: in 1996, thirty, she was the first woman to set foot in the head office of Astronomy street. She entered with a role of responsibility, as president of young industrialists, and in the years she has held the most prestigious positions at European level. In recognition of her dazzling career, and of the esteem and trust that she has been able to conquer, she is now designated as head of Confindustria. And here there are three primacies at once: sex, age, and the plebiscite of the highest percentage of votes ever reached (99.2%).
She said she is “very excited, happy, proud”. She considers her appointment as “a symbol for all women” and indicates in low female employment one of the problems of the development in Italy.
