The Odd Couple and Doppia Difesa
27 Agosto 2008
The Doppia Difesa Foundation O.N.L.U.S. has for founders Michelle Hunziker and Giulia Bongiorno and it was founded in 2007 with a mission to provide support to women and children victims of violence, discrimination and abuse at home or at work.
Very different for job profiles but close in terms of strength of character, the two young women have fought with tenacity and determination to prove their value in two decidedly “machisti” environments.
Michelle Hunziker is the most appreciated showgirl at the moment, a moment that in fact lasted for years as proof of her consolidated and eclectic talent, and Giulia Bongiorno, her skilful lawyer, that still young was noticed in the defensive college of Senator Andreotti, is now insistently mentioned as a possible holder to the Ministry of Justice.
Charismatic, brilliant and courageous, they decidedly are women of success.
Discovering a mutual desire, the two friends have decided to put the big media appeal of Michelle and the solid legal competence of Giulia to help the too many women who daily suffer violence.
Conscious that, if every day in our country, television news report of damage or raped women or of children that are victims of paedophilia, not all incidents of abuse become news because not everyone is able to break the silence and to find the strength to denounce the persecutors, Michelle and Giulia with Doppia Difesa tell us: “Violence is not a private matter: open that door.”
A blue ajar door as symbol of the foundation and the slogan “Open your eyes, let’s come out”, a series of meetings to promote culture to win ancestral fears and to help injured women, and a staff of experts to assist psychologically and legally victims in the difficult path to the complaint.
The showgirl and the lawyer, the blonde and the brunette, the Swiss and the Sicilian, the sprightly one and the serious one, are perhaps an odd couple but the mission they have with Doppia Difesa is really praiseworthy.
